Browser extension
Fill any application from the side panel
Our browser extension sits next to the job you’re reading — on any site, not just the ones we list. It is part of JobIndex Pro ($4/month): connecting it needs a Pro account.
What it does
- Shows whether the job you are reading is on JobIndex, and saves it to your board in one click.
- Fills in name, email, phone, location and profile links, and attaches your CV. It never overwrites what you typed, never ticks consent boxes and never submits for you.
- Pages are read only while the panel is open, and only when you press a button.
Install it in Chrome, Edge or Brave (about two minutes)
- Download the extension.Download JobIndex for Chrome (.zip)Unzip it (double-click the file). You get a folder called
jobindex-extension. Keep it somewhere permanent, like Documents: the browser loads the extension from that folder. - Open your browser’s extensions page.Copy this and paste it into the address bar. Browsers do not open it from a link.In Edge use
chrome://extensionsedge://extensions, in Bravebrave://extensions. - Turn on Developer mode.It is a switch in the top-right corner of that page (bottom-left in Edge).
- Click “Load unpacked”and choose the
jobindex-extensionfolder you unzipped. JobIndex appears in the list. - Pin it to the toolbar.Click the puzzle-piece icon next to the address bar, then the pin beside JobIndex.
- Connect your account.Click the JobIndex icon. The side panel opens; press Connect account, then Connect this browser on the page that opens. You only do this once.
Using it
- Open a job ad on any site and click the JobIndex icon. The panel shows the job and whether it is on JobIndex.
- Save to your board adds it to your workspace, so you can track the application.
- On the application form, press Fill this form. The first time, the browser asks to let JobIndex read job sites: allow it, because many forms sit inside another site’s frame.
- Filled fields are outlined in green. Check every answer, then submit the form yourself: JobIndex never submits for you.
If something looks wrong
- Chrome warns about developer-mode extensions when it starts. That is normal for extensions not installed from the Chrome Web Store; keep JobIndex switched on.
- “JobIndex cannot read this page yet”: press Allow on job sites in the panel, or click the toolbar icon again on that tab.
- “No application form on this page”: open the form first. It is usually behind an Apply button.
- The panel asks you to connect again: the extension’s key expired or was revoked. Press Connect account.
- Updating: download the new zip, replace the folder’s contents, and press the reload arrow on JobIndex in the extensions page.
On the free plan? Upgrade to Pro from your account, then connect the extension.
